Policy:
On 08/11/2021, President Holloway mandated that all Rutgers University students, regardless of vaccination status, will be required to wear face coverings in all indoor buildings on the Rutgers University school campuses. On top of this, testing and vaccinations are still mandatory at Rutgers, further restricting our Medical Freedom on campus. We find these decisions to be both unnecessary and unfair to the entire student body across the Rutgers University System campuses, especially the mask and testing mandates. Firstly, the vast majority of the student body here at Rutgers has been vaccinated for COVID-19, and the number of students who are getting vaccinated continues to grow each day. Students have had many months to decide whether or not they choose to get the COVID-19 vaccine. By mandating such requirements, Rutgers University is deliberately stripping away our autonomy and Medical Freedom as students and individuals. As free individuals, we retain the right to choose our own actions, therefore we should not be forced to make serious medical decisions against our will. I hereby petition Jonathan Holloway to return the rights of students of Rutgers University and lift these mandates immediately.
